The factory number plate mount on the 2025 Mercedes G63 is a massive plastic box that dominates the front bumper and never seems to fit Australian plates correctly. It’s an oversized design that ruins the clean lines of the G-Wagon and leaves you with a bulky, unfinished look. In this video, Chris shows how to delete that OEM brick and replace it with our new Flow Brackets miniature plinth for a much sharper, more refined front end.
We have redesigned the mounting system completely to offer two solution options. The "Long" version is a direct bolt-on replacement that utilizes the existing factory holes, meaning no drilling is required for standard or larger plates. For those running smaller plates, our "Short" version allows for an even tighter fit, requiring just two small pilot holes and including plugs to neatly cover the original factory mounting points. Both options provide a solid, purpose-built foundation for your plate bracket.
Once fitted, choose the correct Flow Brackets number plate mount for your plate style such as slimline, heritage, euro, or standard. The result is a clean, floating plate finish that removes the oversized plastic box and properly fits Australian number plates without compromising the rugged, premium look of the G-Class.
This setup delivers a reversible, factory-style upgrade that sharpens the front profile of the G63 while offering a proportional fit for Australian plates.
Small Plinth
- Suits all plate sizes including 3-4 character plates (270mm wide and below)
- Requires drilling 2 small pilot holes
Large Plinth
- Fits directly to holes used to mount the factory mounting box.
- NOT SUITED for plates smaller than 270mm wide (i.e most 3-4 character plates)
