The factory number plate mounting box on the Mercedes AMG GTR is oversized, overly thick, and poorly shaped for Australian number plates. It sits on a pointed surface, forcing the plate to bend, which immediately rules out heritage, framed, or prestige plates and prevents the use of covers.
Our AMG GTR miniature plinth is a complete redesign of the factory mounting solution. It is shaped to follow the contours of the front bumper and replaces the bulky OEM mounting box entirely. The plinth self locates using the central factory mounting point and integrated locating feet, ensuring correct alignment with no guesswork during installation.
Once installed, the miniature plinth acts as the base for our Flow Brackets system. A bracket is then selected to suit your specific plate style, including slimline, standard, heritage, or prestige plates. This allows plates to be mounted flat without bending, while achieving a clean floating appearance that suits the aggressive front end of the GTR.
The plinth uses the factory centre mounting hole and adds two additional mounting points for strength and stability. Supplied hardware includes black replacement clips and fasteners to remove visible white factory plugs, leaving a discreet and OEM quality finish once installed.
Every Flow Brackets plate bracket shares the same outer profile, allowing easy adjustment through multiple slot positions to fine tune height and placement. Heritage brackets also include micro adjustment options to achieve precise alignment before locking everything in with the included security screws.
This system eliminates the compromises of the factory mounting box and allows proper fitment of plates that would otherwise be impossible to mount on the AMG GTR. The result is a secure, well aligned, and visually balanced plate setup that complements the front end rather than detracting from it.
